The Determinants of Employees’ Job Performance and Organizational Commitment of The Agricultural Extension Organization in Menoufiya Governorate

Abstract

This study aimed basically at identifying the determinants of employees' job performance and organizational commitment of the agricultural extension organization in Menoufiya Governorate. Data were collected from a random sample of 95 respondent, through personal interviews with respondents. Data were analyzed descriptively and analytically by using frequencies, percentages, range, mean, standard deviation, reliability estimate, One-Way Anova, Eta Squared, Pearson's correlation coefficient,  and the multiple regression (step-wise) analysis. The most important findings of the study were:
(1) The majority of employees of agricultural extension organization at Menoufiya governorate (about 72 %) had a high degree of organizational commitment, while 57% of employees of agricultural cooperatives had a high degree of job performance.
(2) The most independent variables affecting degree of employees' organizational commitment, were technology, employees' kind (males, and females), employees' training and the organizational structure respectively. These variables had explained about 27% of the variance of the employees' organizational commitment of agricultural extension organization at Menoufiya governorate.
(3) The most independent variables affecting degree of employees' job performance respectively, were employees' experience and employees' training. These variables had explained about 11% of the variance of the employees' job performance of agricultural extension organization at Menoufiya governorate.
