The global formation movement went through several stages until contemporary technology added new possibilities for mankind that did not exist before; by increasing man's ability to create new aesthetic values that were pure imagination. This shifted to the field of fine arts and then to the film industry; when digital technology became an integral part of filmmaking.
3D printing is a new technological revolution that is progressing rapidly, it's a way to create a 3D object layer by layer using a number of different printing materials, such as powders and threads… etc., after creating a model design by one of the specialized computer programs. The applications of 3D printing are very diverse, and filmmaking is another area where it shows its full potential; it has become the most commonly used among filmmakers who use it in innovative ways.
This research paper enriches the researcher and scholar of the film industry by learning about the technology of 3D printing and how to use it in films, especially the design of the props that are an essential in the making of any film; through enhancing the scene and helping the actor to feel the role more, thus contributing to the strengthening of the cinematic means of expression.
This will be achieved by monitoring and analyzing examples of applications of the technology in the making of props in films produced in USA “Hollywood cinema", from the beginning of the 21st century to the present; in order to determine the problematic impact of the role played by the technology in the development of the implementation of props used in films, and what are the advantages and limitations must be overcome? Eventually, it was concluded that the technology of 3D printing could actually be used to design and implement the props used in films.
