مستخلص      هدف البحث إلى التعرف على العلاقة بين درجات الضيق النفسي واحترام الذات لدى عينة من هيئة التمريض بمستشفيات محافظة كفر الشيخ، وكذلك الكشف عما إذا كانت هناك فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في مقياس الضيق النفسي ومقياس احترام الذات وفقًا لمتغير النوع (ذكور، وإناث)، وأيضًا التحقق من إمكانية التنبؤ بالضيق النفسي من خلال احترام الذات. وقد استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي لتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (108) ممرض وممرضة من العاملين بمستشفيات محافظة  كفرالشيخ، تراوحت أعمارهم من (25-40) سنة. واستخدم الباحث مقياس الضيق النفسي (إعداد الباحث)، ومقياس احترام الذات (إعداد الباحث). وتوصلت نتائج الدراسة إلى: وجود علاقة ارتباطية سالبة بين الضيق النفسي واحترام الذات لدى عينة من هيئة التمريض، ووجود فروق بين الممرضين والممرضات في مقياس الضيق النفسي في اتجاه الممرضين، ووجود فروق بين الممرضين والممرضات في مقياس احترام الذات لصالح الممرضين، وأيضًا أمكن التنبؤ باحترام الذات من خلال الضيق النفسي التي يتعرض له هؤلاء الممرضين اثناء العمل مع المرضى. Abstract    The aim of the research was to understand the relationship between levels of psychological distress and Self-respect among a sample of nursing staff، as well as to uncover whether there were statistically significant differences in the psychological distress scale and the Self-respect scale based on gender (males and females). The study also aimed to verify the possibility of predicting psychological distress through Self-respect. The researcher used a descriptive approach to achieve the study's objectives، and the sample consisted of 108 nurses working in Kafr el-Sheikh hospitals، aged between 25 and 40 years. The researcher employed a psychological distress scale (developed by the researcher) and a Self-respect scale (developed by the researcher). The study's results indicated: a negative correlation between psychological distress and Self-respect among the nursing sample، significant differences between male and female nurses in the psychological distress scale favoring male nurses، differences between male and female nurses in the Self-respect scale favoring female nurses، and it was also possible to predict self- respect based on psychological distress.
