Considering the current challenges of climate change and devastating economic crises, it has become necessary for companies to carry out their social responsibility towards society and the grinding environment. This research aims to demonstrate the role of corporate social responsibility in achieving sustainability, in addition to establishing a theoretical foundation for the concept of social responsibility and identifying its dimensions and stating the challenges it faces, then coming up with solutions to these challenges to activate them. The inductive and deductive approaches were followed to identify the laws and legislation regulating corporate social responsibility. This research reached many results, the most important of which is the confusion between the concept of social responsibility and charitable work in many companies, and that the social responsibility initiatives undertaken by companies are individual initiatives that lack coherence and integration, and are carried out in an improvised and voluntary manner and do not work according to a comprehensive plan, which leads to the dispersion of efforts and failure to achieve the maximum possible benefit, as well as the lack of sufficient material incentives, which led to companies slowing down in their commitment to social responsibility. The study recommended reviewing the current legislation related to social responsibility by making periodic amendments to it. And to create a guide for social responsibility as a guiding model for companies, and to increase grants, benefits and incentives for companies committed to social responsibility because the costs of these companies increase due to their commitment to social responsibility, and to encourage other companies to commit to it, with the government in partnership with the private sector to create a unified ethical code of conduct for companies that meets the needs and aspirations of society.
