Abstract

The commemorative stamps in the Egyptian Postal Museum are an important and novel topic in the field of documenting important historical events and occasions, given the rich archaeological and historical aspects, information, and events they contain. Stamps are government documents that reveal many important events and facts that Egypt witnessed during various historical eras. They are also considered a material treasure for stamp collectors, and their value increases with the passage of time.   This research deals with a historical, descriptive, and analytical study of a collection of commemorative stamps in the Cairo Postal Museum, which is one of the rich and valuable museums that documents the history and heritage of Egypt, as a witness to the stages of development of the Egyptian postal system from 1865 AD to the present day. It has been fully restored and developed with the aim of reviving and preserving Egyptian heritage, recording a history of Egypt's leadership in the field of postal services using modern technologies that blend the authenticity of the past with a contemporary spirit.    The Egyptian Postal Museum houses an amazing collection of rare postal artifacts that uniquely embody the Egyptian postal heritage, along with the most important stamps and publications of the Postal Authority since its establishment. It also tells the story of the development of writing and letters in various forms. It also includes many tools used by voyagers and postmen, and the development of letters since the Pharaonic, Roman, Coptic, Islamic and modern eras. In addition to unique stamps that tell the story of European, African, Asian, American and Australian mail, as well as many rare historical documents.
