Abstract

This research aims to verify the effectiveness of a program based on the linguistic needs approach in developing functional written expression skills for administrative employees in the Iraqi Ministry of Justice. In order to achieve this goal, the researcher prepared the following experimental treatment tools: (a list of appropriate functional written expression skills), Preparing the program based on the linguistic needs approach, preparing the learners' worksheets, and testing the appropriate functional written expression skills for the administrative employees of the Ministry of Justice. The research was based on the design) of one experimental group. The research sample consisted of 30 administrative (employees from the Ministry of Justice employees in the Republic of Iraq. The researcher By conducting a pre-test of functional written expression skills on the research group (a pre-test), Then teaching the research group according to the language needs approach in the year 2024 AD, and the test was re-applied to the research group (a post-application), and the results of the pre- and post-applications showed that there were statistically significant differences between the average scores of the research group in the pre- and post-measurements of functional written expression skills. (As a whole - and each skill separately) in favor of the post-measurement, which confirms the effectiveness of the program in developing the functional written expression skills of the research sample.
