Abstract

The research sheds light upon Chinese paintings that include verses of poetry, and were written in Chinese calligraphy. Analyzing these works that were known by the term “The Three Perfections"; painting, poetry and calligraphy. Focusing on the works executed during the imperial era.   This study is the first in Arabic language to address this category of highly specific Chinese paintings. It is a study from an art history perspective, follows the historical analytical methodology, and aims to benefit the applied field in the contemporary arts, many of which revolve around the blending of various types of arts. One of the biggest difficulties of the research was finding paintings whose ancient Chinese verses were translated – those written during the imperial era before the development of 1949 AD- into European languages ​​or modern Chinese script, so that the researcher could translate them into Arabic.
