The organization's work environment is considered a factor of success or failure for organizations as it serves as a fundamental source of its inputs and a destination for its outputs. The contemporary organizational work environment is characterized by dynamism, turbulence, and unpredictability due to rapid and unforeseen changes. Events such as the COVID-19 pandemic-induced closures and the subsequent global economic recession in 2020 accelerated transformation in the job market, skills, and job demand.  Moreover, the increasing reliance on digitalization and information technology by companies poses a significant threat to business, leading to fundamental shifts in tasks, jobs, and required skills. The global and local job markets suffer from skill gaps and an inability to attract suitable talent, necessitating organizations to develop and enhance human skills and capabilities through education, purposeful work, and retraining, aiming for economic success, individual prosperity, and societal cohesion. Governments play an essential role in employees' reskilling by setting perquisites for effective transformation in the job market. The current research discusses and analyzes the most significant contemporary environmental changes in the Egyptian work environment and their relationship to employees' reskilling. It also examines the roles of government and private organizations in this domain, offering recommendations for both sectors to achieve effective employees' reskilling.
