Abstract

The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of an integrative counseling program in the cognitive organization and treatment of emotional imbalance among university students of both sexes from the faculties of (Education - Arts and Humanities) at Taibah University. To measure the cognitive organization of students of both sexes, the study sample reached (60) students and they were divided into two groups, experimental and control, and the counseling program was presented to them for a month, and the study reached a set of results. The most prominent results of the study:
The results showed: There are statistically significant differences at the level (0.01) between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups after applying the program. There are statistically significant differences at the level (0.01) between the students' mean scores in the pre and post measurements in favor of the post measurement. There are no statistically significant differences at the (0,01) level between the average scores of students (males/females) in the level of cognitive organization and their emotional imbalance in the dimensional measurement after applying the program. The study recommended a number of recommendations: The necessity of paying attention to students, especially in the university stages, by providing psychological and counseling support to improve their emotional states that help them to overcome the problems and obstacles to studying. Choosing the most appropriate integrative counseling techniques in providing counseling support so that students do not experience relapses of academic failure after failing in previous subjects. Reassess students' levels in terms of their ability to face negative events and their use of positive strategies to confront their emotions.
