Abstract

ABSTRACT Malnutrition due to cancer is a significant issue. Malnutrition in cancer patients leads to decreased response to therapy and tolerance, shorter remission periods, worse rates of survival, and higher risk of adverse effects, resulting in higher healthcare costs. Cancer patients often experience psychological discomfort, which can hinder their capacity to oversee self-care and attend therapy. This can lead to lower food intake and weight loss. Proper eating can help patients retain strength and energy while lowering the likelihood of treatment-related adverse effects. We would have the safest path to health if we could provide each person with the appropriate amount of nutrition and exercise, not too little and not too much. Leukaemia represents approximately 3.5% of all cancer cases and is characterized by the buildup of aberrant white blood cells. Pancytopenia might arise from reduced cell formation or increased destruction. The results show that a considerable portion of the patient population is experiencing challenges in meeting their nutritional needs, as seen by the prevalence of low to extremely low average calorie intake. According to these results, those who consume more calories on average are more likely to have higher body mass indices.
