Abstract

The Government of Egypt realized the importance of adopting a comprehensive strategy to reduce poverty, which negatively affects sustainable development, in addition to threatening the stability of society; about two-thirds of the poor live in the rural. About 48.1%, 22.56% of the population of Upper Egypt and Lower, this shows the increasing burden of the geographical development gap. The problem of the research is represented in the following question: What are the reasons that led to the exacerbation of the problem of poverty in Egypt, especially in the rural area, “ruralization of poverty?", and then the research aims mainly to study the most important variables affecting poverty in Egypt and the rural in particular through a number of sub objectives.
