Abstract

examination of 385 broiler chickens at Port-said province during the period extending from March 1995 till the end of February 1996 revealed that, 40 (10. 38%) were found infected wih Cryptosporidun species. The peak of infection occurred during Summer (15.53%), followed by Spring and Autumn (11.66 and 8.77% respectively). The lowest infection rate was found during Winter (4.34%). Morphometrically, the obtained species was identified as Cryptosporidum baileyi. The present study dealt also with the gross pathology and histopathological alterations in the intestine and bursa.
