Abstract

The aim of the research was to study the economic and psychological effects of drug abuse, as stating the economic effects of drug abuse will enable any scientific researcher to know the extent of economic and psychological losses that occur to the employee or worker, while setting dynamic perceptions and practical visions to combat drugs and methods of prevention. A questionnaire was designed to measure the extent of civil responsibility for addiction crimes and their financial and psychological impact and to state the economic and psychological effects on the individual and society. A set of results were reached, the most important of which is that the process of addiction will have major negative effects on the individual and society, especially drugs as a psychological problem, as well as the role of the family in protecting its children from the dangerous problem of drugs. In addition, one of the most dangerous harms of drugs is its negative impact on the economy of society, due to its high cost on society's resources, in addition to hindering its growth and reducing the effectiveness of the major trends that should dominate its path. The study recommended the necessity of ensuring the rights of employees in the event of suspected or proven drug use, including providing an opportunity for rehabilitation and return to work after successfully completing treatment programs, as well as coordination with treatment agencies: Coordination with addiction treatment institutions to provide integrated support to employees who need treatment, while ensuring the confidentiality of information and respect for employee privacy.
