Abstract

The aim of the current research is to present an environmental cognitive program to develop visual-motor coordination with the aim of improving communication in cases of developmental disorders. This is through identifying cognitive problems, especially visual-motor difficulties, improving fine motor skills, such as (handwriting, tying a shoelace), and large motor skills, such as (throwing or catching a ball) and training in grasping, grasping, or handling objects. The study sample consisted of 60 children with developmental disorders. They were divided into (30) children in a control group and (30) children in an experimental group. The researchers used the experimental method and used the developmental disorders scale, the communication skills scale, and the visual-motor coordination scale. Our results revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the control and experimental group in the sample of the post-application of the developmental disorders scale in favor of the experimental group. There were statistically significant differences between the control and experimental group in the sample of the post-application of the visual-motor synergism scale in favor of the experimental group. There are statistically significant differences between the pre-application and the post-application sample. The post-application of the pilot study sample of the developmental disorders scale is in favor of the post-application. There were statistically significant differences between the pre-application and the post-application of the pilot study sample of the visual-motor synergy scale in favor of the post-application. It is recommended conduct further scientific research on developing visual-motor coordination and measuring it and designing programs and tests to develop children with special abilities and ordinary children. Applying this criterion to models of other types of disorders and proving the consistency of describing the reality of development and the level of performance of children with other disorders.
