يَتَنَاوَلُ الْبَحْثُ مَعْرِفَةَ أَعْيَانِ جَنُوبِ صَعِيدِ مِصْرَ وَرَصْدِهِمْ عَامَ1879م، وَذَلِکَ مِنْ خِلَالِ کِتَابٍ تَارِيخِيٍّ مِهِمٍّ لَمْ يَنَلْ حَظَّهُ الْکَافِي مِنَ الدِّرَاسَةِ وَالْاهْتِمَامِ، وَهُو کِتَابُ الطَّالِعِ السَّعِيدِ فِي رِحْلَةِ الْخِدِيوِ الْأَعْظَمِ إِلَى إِقْلِيمِ الصَّعِيدِ لِمُؤَلِّفِهِ مُحَمَّدِ قَاسِمٍ مِنْ أُدَبَاءِ الْقَرْنِ التَّاسِعَ عَشَرَ الْمِيلَادِيِّ، وَهُو سِجِلٌّ شَامِلٌ لِزِيَارَةِ الْخِدِيويِ تَوْفِيقَ إِلَى صَعِيدِ مِصْرَ عَامَ 1879 م، وَتَرْجِعُ أَهَمِّيَّةُ الْمَوْضُوعِ کَوْنَهُ رَصْدًا لِأَعْيَانِ مُجْتَمَعِ الصَّعِيدِ خِلَالَ تِلْکَ الرِّحْلَةِ الْخِدِيوِيَّةِ الَّتِي لَمْ تَنَلْ حَظَّهَا مِنَ الدِّرَاسَةِ فِي دِرَاسَاتِ تَارِيخِ مِصْرَ الْحَدِيثِ   The topic of this research deals with the knowledge and monitoring of notables in southern Upper Egypt in 1879 AD, through an important historical book that did not receive sufficient study and attention, which is the book The Happy Fortune on the Great Khedive's Journey to Upper Egypt by its author Muhammad Qasim, one of the writers of the nineteenth century AD, which is A comprehensive record of Khedive Tawfiq's visit to Upper Egypt in 1879 AD, and the importance of the topic is due to the fact that it is a monitoring of the notables of the Upper Egypt community during that Khedive's trip, which did not receive sufficient study in studies of modern Egypt's history
