Green museums building is considered centers that express culture and identity. They help spread and revive human cultural heritage in the urban environment through the architectural concept and activities that support the museum functions to become educational centers and tourist destinations, paving the way toward cultural heritage preservation. The study explores the concepts of green architecture and sustainable development, and their integration in the design and management of modern museums and aims to present and a compare between the first green museums. The research approach depends on both the theoretical and applied presentation, the concept of green architecture, and the requirements of (green pyramid) to be achieved starting from the design process to the management to become green buildings. It is a comparative analysis between the Qatar National Museum, the first certified green museum in the Middle East, and the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is in the process of fulfilling the green building requirements to become the first green museum in Egypt. The study includes a selection of results and special recommendations of the requirements for a museum to transform into the classification of a green building.
