هدف البحث إلى الکشف عن العلاقة بين المرونة المعرفية وبعض سمات الشخصية (الاستقلالية، الثقة بالنفس) لدى التلاميذ المعاقين سمعيًا، و التعرف على الفروق بين الجنسين (ذکور-إناث) في المرونة المعرفية وبعض سمات الشخصية (الاستقلالية-الثقة بالنفس)، وقد تکونت عينة البحث من (120) تلميذًا وتلميذة من التلاميذ المعاقين سمعيًا بمدارس الأمل بنين وبنات بمحافظة حولى وبعض مدارس التعليم الخاص فى محافظة العاصمة ، بواقع (60) من الذکور و(60) من الإناث، الذين تتراوح أعمارهم ما بين (9-18) عامًا. وقد قامت الباحثة بإعداد مقياس المرونة المعرفية ومقياس سمات الشخصية ، وقد توصلت نتائج البحث إلى العديد من النتائج أهمها: عدم وجود علاقة ارتباطية دالة إحصائيًا بين المرونة المعرفية وسمة الاستقلالية، وأيضًا وجود علاقة ارتباطية دالة إحصائيًا عند مستوى دلالة 0.01 بين المرونة المعرفية وسمة الثقة بالنفس لدى المعاقين سمعيًا. کما أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق دالة إحصائيًا عند مستوى دلالة 0.01 بين متوسطي درجات الذکور والإناث في المرونة المعرفية وأبعادها الفرعية (المهارات المعرفية، المهارات السلوکية) لدى المعاقين سمعيًا لصالح الذکور، في حين أسفرت النتائج عن عدم وجود فروق بين الجنسين في سمة الاستقلالية، بينما توجد فروق دالة إحصائيًا عند مستوى دلالة 0.05 بين الجنسين في سمة الثقة بالنفس لدى المعاقين سمعيًا لصالح الذکور.  
The current research aims at investigating the nature of the relation between cognitive flexibility and some traits of personality (Independency/Self-confidence)  for hearing impaired pupils .It also aims at investigating the differences among genders(Male/Female)  in cognitive flexibility and some traits of personality(Independency/Self-confidence). The sample of the study consists of  (120) hearing impaired pupils (60 males,60 females ) in Al Aml schools in Kuwait city and Al Aml school in Hawally city .Their ages ranges from (9-18) years old. The researcher of used the following instruments cognitive flexibility scale and traits of personality scale (Prepared by the researcher ) .The researcher revealed the following results as there is no a  statistical significant correlative between cognitive flexibility and independency trait. The results also showed that there is a  statistical significant correlative at 0.01 level between cognitive flexibility and self confidence trait for hearing impaired .The results also showed that there are no statistically significant differences at 0.01 significance level  among males and females' mean scores in cognitive flexibility and it's sub traits (Cognitive skills-Behavioral skills)  for hearing impaired pupils in favor of males. The results showed that there are no differences between genders in independency trait however, there are statistically significant differences at 0.05 level among genders in self confidence trait for male hearing impaired pupils
