The onion crop is an important strategic field crop in Egypt as it represents a main source of national agricultural income and. This study aims to elucidate the effects of cultivating time on the productive performance per feddan. Data were randomly collected from one Upper-Egypt governorate (Sohag) and one Delta goveronate (Behira). The results indicated that, the value of the production of onion crop is about 3.2 million pounds, representing about 1.8% of the value of plant production, which is about 175.5 million pounds. In conclusion, there was a marked fluctuation in the production of onions in the Arab Republic of Egypt, which in turn can affect the price fluctuations in the local market and could lead to a negative effect on the income of the Egyptian farmer as well as the consumer.
