Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the perceptions and attitudes of Saudi undergraduate EFL students towards the flipped classroom strategy in distance learning and its effect on their understanding of the course and satisfaction during the year of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 at King Saud University. To achieve those aims, the research adopted a mixed method design through the use of questionnaires and interviews. Questionnaires were sent to 12 students who experienced the flipped classroom for a month. After that, interviews with five students who volunteered to participate were carried out. The results showed that students' views and attitudes towards the flipped classroom method were quite positive. The flipped classroom method enhanced student's satisfaction, interaction and understanding of the course.
