Abstract

The foramen magnum is the largest opening of the skull lying at the base of posterior cranial fossa. Foramen magnum meningiomas are rare lesions. Computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are the most commonly used investigations to evaluate foramenmagnum lesions. Numerous surgical approaches have been used to gain access to foramen magnum meningiomas. These approaches may be directed through anterior, anterolateral, lateral, posterolateral and posterior corridors.
