The aim of this work is to review the literature, and to find gender differences in bipolar disorder. This study includes 2 parts survey study over years (1999,2000) and comparative study included 55 patients (27 males and 28 females) suffering from bipolar disorder. The results in revealed that more male patients showed manic episodes while female patients showed more rapid cycling episodes, family history of affective disorders and extroversion. More male showed higher score on family, economic educational psychological and health stressors.
