4631 Egyptian patients frequenting Kasr Al Einy outpatient clinic of Psychiatry from 1998-2000 had the diagnosis of Mood Disorders according to DSM-IV criteria. Seasonality is the focus of attention and was detected as it showed high statistical values of Depression in winter and of Mania in summer. Gender and age differences in mood disorders were examined but showed no significant values. Our results are consistent with others done on the same subject.
