Patients with obstructive jaundice, have factors that predict nutritional deficiency, such as prealbumin which is found decreased in these patents, nutritional risk index, which is found decreased in a lot of patients. Nutritional support in this period of obstructive jaundice may improve the results of surgery. Nutritional support in this period may prevent the complications of obstructive jaundice.
