This study was conducted on 30 patients with bone marrow failuredivided into 2 groups: Congenital group [included 20 patients diagnosed as congenital bone marrow disorders] and acquired group [included 10 patients diagnosed as acquired aplastic anemia (serving as a comparative group)].They were subjected to full history taking, clinical examination, laboratory investigations and cardiac evaluation by chest X-ray,electrocardiography (ECG) and echocardiography. The results of this study revealed that many cardiovascularabnormalities were detected in both congenital and acquired groupsrespectively such as cardiomegally (30% and 60%), valvular affection (35% and 50%), pulmonary hypertention (5% and 20%), congenital heart disease (15% and 10%), congestive heart failure (10% and 30%) and arrhythmia (10% and 0%). None of our patients within the 2 studied groups had cardiomyopathy (0%). Systolic functions (EF% and FS%) showed no significant difference in both groups. Our patients showed no evidence of diastolic dysfunction.
