Abstract

The effectiveness of ECT depends on cooperation between the anesthesiologist and the psychiatrist. So it is important to understand the physiologic effects of electroconvulsive therapy, its role in the management of some psychiatric and nonpsychiatric conditions and also the contraindications. The safe management of the patients demands understanding the potential drug interactions between anesthetic durgs and psychopic drugs, also modulation of haemodynamic effects of electroconvulsive Therapy.
