Down Syndrome children have cognitive defect, mental defects & some have hearing disorders, which results in delayed language development & speech problems. There is some difference regarding the receptive & expressive language, as they have better receptive than expressive language. Also they suffer from weak syntax & reduced ability to narrate and to enter dialogue. This study was performed on 50 children with Down syndrome & 50 normal children at the phoniatric unit, Cairo University & it was found that Down syndrome children have lower receptive & expressive language abilities.
