Abstract

This work aimed to study a simplified Arabic bedside test of aphasia ; Kasr El-Eini Arabic Aphasia Test, aiming to be standardized, valid and reliable, to assess the language impairment of Egyptian aphasic patients . The study included 160 aphasia patients and 160 normal controls. The test assessed different language parameters affected in aphasia. The test distinguished aphasic from non- aphasic disturbance, identified the type of phasia, had high validity and reliability compared with other aphasia tests . Suicide ideation and quality of life in aphasia were also studied.
