One of the most hotly debated issues in cardiac surgery is whether off pump CABG is superior to that performed on cardiopulmonary bypass. In this study we compared early results of isolated on pump versus off pump CABG in patients with mild to moderate elevation in serum creatinine (1.6 -2.5 mg/dl). We concluded that in early results off pump may offer a superior renal protection over on pump surgery in this type of patients.
