This study was done as a comparative study of the accuracy of 3Du/s and hysteroscopic evaluation of uterine cavity findings in abnormal uterine bleeding. The study was included to 25patients complaining of abnormal uterine bleeding in the age group between30-45 years old, admitted to Kasr Al-Aini hospital ,and scadualed for diagnostic hysteroscopy. All patients were subjected to detailed history, examination: complete general, abdominal and vaginal examination, routine investigations, preliminary 2Du/s, 3 Du/s and diagnostic hysteroscopy. Results: The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy of 3Du/s in diagnosis of all intracavitary uterine lesions is 71.05%, 95.16%, 90.0%, 84.24% and83.00% respectively while of hysteroscopy is 92.10%, 95.16%, 92.10%, 95.16%and 91.00% respectively. Conclusion: Hysteroscopy offers an accurate method to investigate the uterine cavity with high sensitivity and specificity values, and it,s an excellent guide for localization of pathological lesions and guided biopsy.
