Abstract

Amniotic membrane, the innermost layer of the fetal membranes, has a wide variety of uses in ophthalmic surgery. The objective of our study was to highlight the different uses of amniotic membrane, especially in keratorefractive surgery. We concluded that it may be considered as an effective dressing material for recovery of visual acuity in a variety of corneal wounds, including excimer laser keratectomy
