This study was carried out on 20 patients with chronic renal failure requiring angioaccess for hemodialysis. They were sent to the surgery clinic at Kasr El-Aini Hospital to creat an artificial radiocephalic fistula. In this study the preoperative radial artery diameter, blood flow, flow rate and resistivity index were measured by Doppler ultrasound. These same variables were assessed 1 day and 2 weeks postoperative. This study shown that color doppler ultrasound is very effective method in evaluation of hernodynamic changes of AVF in heinodialysis patients and possibly predict the pathology of nonfunctioning fistula and the cause of complicationa that develop secondairly.
