Abstract

Sex has always been an intriguing subject in human life. Few topics in the realm of human behavior are more fascinating, exciting, or perhaps contentious and controversial than sex. Abnormal sexual behavior is even more intriguing due to its multiple implications either as a voluntary or involuntary action. Abnormal sexual behaviors are known variously as sexual perversions, sexual deviations, or more commonly paraphilias. These practices range from the commonly known sadism, masochism, fetishism, and voyeurism to such uncommon and esoteric as homilophilia, choreophilia and tripsolagnia. The term sodomy was confined to sexual connection between two males (homosexual sodomy) and possibly unnatural connection between a male and a female (heterosexual sodomy), this is also called buggery. Paederasty is the term used when the passive agent is a young boy. This study was conducted to evaluate problem of anal intercourse allegations presented as medicolegal cases from Cairo, Giza, Helwan and Six of October governorates from the year 2005 to the year 2009 and the different factors that affect this problem. Data from cases of alleged sodomy presented to medicolegal administration were collected. Data included the following: age, gender, occupation, marital status, relation to the offender, any associated violence or threat and other factors. It was found that the highest percentage of cases was in age group A (10 years and less of age) and males outnumbered females in all age groups. The majority of cases lived in urban areas. The majority of cases reported being threatened to compel to the act while local examination was negative in the majority of cases.
