Abstract

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a powerful tool in theevaluation of HCC. It has many advantages including; high soft tissuecontrast resolution, tissue characterization, multiplanar imaging aswell as lack of ionizing radiation. In addition, MRI proved to be moresensitive than contrast enhanced computed tomography (CT) fordetection of mass in the liver. Several categories of contrast agents arecurrently available for MRI of the liver.
