Conventional transabdominal rectopexy & rectopexy with sigmoid resection are currently the new common surgical procedures for rectal prolapse (Huber et al., 1995), they eliminate prolapse and incontinence in the majority of patients. Since its introduction in 1992 (Berman, 1992), Laparoscopic rectopexy with posterior mesh fixation has gained popularity because it is simple and easily accomplished (Drazi, et al., 1995). Now the feasibility of laparoscopic rectopexy with posterior mesh fixation and laparoscopic assisted resection rectopexy is also well established (Baker, et al., 1995).
