Abstract

Gastrointestinal symptoms may occur in about 75% of diabetic patients.Diabetic gastroparesis affects about 50%of diabetic patients mostly due to autonomic neuropathy.Nausea and vomiting that can complicate advanced diabetes are often attributed to impaired gastric motilityConstipation is the most common gastrointestinal symptom in diabetic patients occurring in about 65% of them and in about 90% of patients with severe neuropathy.Diabetic diarrhea occurs in long standing, poorly controlled diabetic patients.Strict glycaemic control may reduce symptoms of diabetic gasteroenteropathy.
