Abstract

We studied 27 aplastic anemia patients, 18 patients completed cytogeneticanalysis aiming at detection of numerical chromosomal abnormalities inchromosomes 7 and 8. Monosomy 7 was detected in 4 patients (22.2%) andmonosomy 8 was detected in one patient (5.5%) and there was nosignificant correlation between the presence of the cytogenetic abnormalitiesand age, sex, type of anemia, severity, type and duration of treatment oroutcome.
