Abstract
Serum NO end product level in cirrhotic patients with portal hypertension and portal hypertensive gastropathy were significantly higher than in the chronic hepatitis and control patients. Among the cirrhotic subgroups, this study showed that the serum level of NO end product were higher in child C patients than child B and child A patients. This denotes that serum NO level increases with the increase in Child-Pugh score. Also there was a statistically significant correlation between NO end product and Child-Pugh score.
