Abstract

This study was conducted on 20 patients type 2 diabetes, 20 diabetic offspring and 20 healthy subjects as a control group.The aim of this work is to study skin microcirculation function in patients with type II diabetes mellitus as well as their offspring.Patients who smoke or had diabetic neuropathy, nephropathy or retinopathy were excluded.Skin microvascular circulation was found to be affected in both diabetics and their offspring.Offspring of diabetic patients show defective microcirculation that can be attributed to genetics of diabetes.Importance of use of Laser Doppler Perfusion Imager in evaluation of the microvascular circulation.
