Abstract

High and low turnover osteodystrophy, osteomalacia, periarthritis, arthritis, soft tissue calcification and skeletal deformities are all important musculoskeletal manifestations of chronic renal failure.A very wide overlap does exist between rheumatology and nephrology; as most anti-rheumatic drugs affect the kidney. Also most of rheumatological diseases show renal manifestations which may range from mild renal insult to manifested kidney failure.
