Systemic hypertension is more commonly in adults and adolescent but early detection of hypertension contributes to improvement of health. This study was done on 4216 children aged 6-12y, prevalence of systolic and diastolic hypertension was 31.9%, combined hypertension was 18.1%, there was significant relation between SBP, DBP and age, sex, address, consanguinity, parent education and occupation, certain risk factors as smoking, family hypertension, D.M. 131 child of hypertensive group was followed and secondary hypertension is more common than primary hypertension, mainly secondary to renal causes.
