Abstract

Insulin resistance accampanies obesity in almost all cases. This study shows that obese grade I & II with normal glucose tolerance don’t suffer from hypercholesterolemia or reduced HDL-c or apo A-I , but there is an elevation of triacylglycerols and apo B-100. Obese diabetic groups showed marked elevation of both triacylglycerols and apo B-100 levels, but there are marked reductin of apo A-I and HDL-c levels. C-peptide level shows an elevation of its level regardless of glucose tolerance.
