Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine the role of apoptosis and reactive oxygen species as causes of nuclear DNA damage in mature spermatozoa from infertile men. This study included a group of infertile men as well as a group of normal healthy men. Both apoptosis and reactive oxygen species were found to be positively correlated with DNA damage. Furthermore, reactive oxygen species were highly correlated with apoptosis in human spermatozoa.
