Abstract

SLE is a multisystem connective tissue disease with thepresence of numorous autoantibodies.- Aim of study is to evaluate the prognostic value of anti-dsDNA for flare in SLE .- Study was conducted on 80 subjects, 30 with SLE inremission, 20 with active SLE and 30 normal relatives .- We found that higher levels of anti-ds DNA are moreprevalent during disease activity .- We found also 10 % of patients in remission had high anti-dsDNA and 26.7% of them had modralty high anit-ds DNA .- We also found 16.7% of normal relatives had high anti-dsDNA and6.7% of them had modralty high anit-ds DNA.- We found also a significant association between renalimpiarment and CNS affection and higher levels of anti-dsDNA.- We concluded that the importance of anti-ds DNA on leis ontheir diagnostic power but their prognostic value for flare is still debated.
