Interventional US procedures of focal hepatic lesions have increased as a result of advent of biopsy guides, specialized transducers and improved image quality. The most potential risk during US guided interventions is occurrence of bleeding. With color Doppler US, one can avoid puncture of critical blood vessels in the path to a lesion during the procedure. Also, color Doppler help to assess the pattern of lesion perfusion to identify occult neovascularity. Moreover, one can discriminate perfused from avascular region for preferential sampling.
