The study results identified the presence of heart failure prior tosurgery as an additional risk factor for renal insult. Moreover, it showed the negative effect of fluid overload on AKI development which has become apparent in recent years. Results have also revealed the potential negative effect of postoperative low cardiac output syndrome as a potential risk factor for AKI development. The study results showed that cardiovascular and respiratory illnessseverity could be a contributing risk factor for renal insult. Moreover, the study showed that over ventilation had no renal protective role, so as for over correction of metabolic acidosis. In addition, over corrected metabolic acidosis might be a potential risk factor for developing AKI.
