Abstract

Identify Candida species in patient with invasive candidiasis, and study the association between different risk factors and development of candidaemia.Recognize prevalence of fluconazole resistance among species of Candida.Compare the performance of Oxoid Chromogenic Candida Agar (OCCA) and Chrom ID Candida Agar (CAN2) with API 20C AUX as the standard method and establish a practical scheme for identification of Candida species in the clinical laboratory.Recognize the susceptibility of isolated Candida to different antifungal agents, and compare disc diffusion method with ATB Fungus 3 as the standard method.
