Abstract

Alopecia areata is a common, non scarring, reversible disorder of hair loss. Predominant mononuclear cell infiltrate mainly by active CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells are striking features. Colchicine is an ancient drug widely used in gout. It was used with success in treatment of familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) and could decrease the serum level of TNF-α in these patients. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of topical colchicine in patients with A.A.
