Apnea of prematurity remains one of the most challenging problems faced by neonatologist. The decrease of oxygen delivery during apnea might worsen long-term neurodevelopmental outcome in preterm infants with apnea. We tried in this study to highlight etiology, precipitating factors and the relation between apnea of prematurity and other diseases and to review the new trends in management of premature apneas.
