Abstract
Coagulation disorders may be broadly classified into disorders of hemostasis and disorders of thrombosis and each of them may be classified into hereditary or acquired disorders. An understanding of the normal coagulation process may help in identifying and management of coagulation disorders. Evaluating a patient with coagulation disorders include history taking, physical examination and performance of appropriate tests. The most common bleeding disorders are the sex-linked diseases now known as hemophilias next to von Willibrand disease. There are some intermediate group of coagulation disorders that include both hemostasis and thrombosis disorders which are known intermediate disorders of hemostasis.
