Pap smear is used as a primary screening tool for cervical cancer and there are new techniques include cervicography, speculoscopy, HPV DNA testing in addition to the traditional method which represented by colposcopy. Cervicography and HPV DNA are used in conjunction with Pap smear to improve its sensitivity Speculoscopy, which is a promising screening tool for the selective screening of patients for colposcopy. All these new techniques can be added to colposcopy, which is used to evaluate women with precancerous cervical lesions and infrequently used for cervical screening.
